JULY

SILVER CITY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT'S PLEIN AIR PAINT-OUT was held in Silver City, SD July 10-12, 2009. The Paint-Out was held in conjunction with the fire department's annual pie and ice cream social to assist their fundraising efforts. A wet sale was held Sunday afternoon with over $3000 of artwork sold. I will again be participating next year as well as being one of the organizers.

SEPTEMBER

THE CHILDREN'S HOME SOCIETY  {http://www.chssd.org/} will have their annual art auction at the K-BAR-S LODGE near Keystone, SD on September 18. This most worthy organization offers a home, school, and therapy for children with emotional and behavior problems in both the Sioux Falls and Black Hills areas. CHS also provides emergency shelter services and counseling for women and children.   My painting "BLACK FOX BEAVER PONDS" will be available at auction.

THE GREAT BLACK HILLS PLEIN AIR PAINT-OUT sponsored by the Blue Dog Framers and Studio Gallery of Lead will again happen September 16 - 20 at the Pearson Ranch south of Deadwood. A wet sale will be held Sunday, September 20, with 30% of the sales donated to the Homestake Opera House in Lead.  I will be painting and hoping to 'land' a good one!
